Three beautiful daughters were born into splendid Victorian-era nobility, then one by one the ladies were cursed and left for eternity to haunt the family home.
Not that they minded, or even noticed.
According to lore, each of the three sisters fell under a different jinx.
The youngest, Hydrangea is the prettiest of the patch, pumpkin headed, glowing orange complexion beauty. Playing coy, with her vine-like finger on her plumb cheek, this winking Crescent lady knows how to hold your attention. Besides being the afterlife of the party, Hydrangea loves making those around her wonder what she’s thinking. The middle daughter, Marigold, has a cool lavender complexion, a beauty mark and a flair for outrageous eyeshadow. No other girl could pull off the ghastly white and purple upswept hairstyle with the same ease as Marigold. Nor would she dare to pair a forehead ferronnière and an Elizabethan collar with a puffy sleeved fuchsia and orange formal gown, but there you have it. All while carelessly blowing a kiss to her namesake flowers like it was one more of her suitors. Lastly, but not leastly, the eldest Amaranth. Her skin is a striking green, which fortunately is a lovely complement to her purple formal gown and her namesake flower that holds aloft at her shoulder. Besides being quiet and creepy as a spider, she loves a good cobweb.
The three ladies’ portraits are featured in her own, custom designed, scroll-worked, gold tone and black frame twists.
The limited run, hard enamel pins of the ladies of this eerie mansion – Amaranth, Hydrangea and Marigold – are each sold separately or as this set of 3 pins, here in our Etsy store, atinybandshop. As with any handmade product (the metal part of our pins is machine produced; the enameling, however, is painstakingly done by hand), there is the possibility of the tiniest of flaws. That’s why we’re offering two grades.
Flaws might be a spec of glitter, slightly under-filled sections, small pieces of enamel missing or perhaps a minimal tarnish to the metal. A “standard” pin is close to perfect, with one or two minor flaws that are not immediately noticeable. A “second” pin has three or more minor blips that might be easier to spot, which is why we’ve discounted the price of seconds. You can choose between the grades under the drop-down menu. A collection will be all of one grade or the other, by your choice.
Each 2 x 1-1/2 inch pin comes on a backing card and has two plum post stoppers so the posts don’t jab you.
These pins, or the individual sisters, look fabulous when displayed alone or in a grouping. A fun accessory to liven up your hats, jackets, aprons or sweaters OR to peg on your keepsake display.
